Q&A
Are the chickens bred to SOP (standard of perfection)?
My chickens are bred for egg color, not for SOP. The breeds are pure bred birds however, they are not all perfect show quality. Beautiful none-the-less. They are all my pets and I will not be taking them from their flocks just for having a slight flaw.
How will I know when my eggs or chicks are ready?
Once your eggs or chicks are ready for shipping or pickup I will email you and if I don’t hear from you by email I will call you. If I don’t get a reply from you within 72 hours, I will move on to the next order. Deposits are non-refundable but you can reach back out and add your name to the list again. If I do reach you, I’ll collect full payment through an invoice and ship your eggs or arrange pickup of chicks or eggs.
If you are having eggs shipped the post office will call you once your eggs arrive at the post office for pickup. They will not be delivered to your home.
Why did you receive brown or blue eggs even though you wanted easter eggers or olive eggers?
Because of of egg color genetics! A blue egg gene chicken paired with a brown egg gene chicken will produce a green egg-laying chicken!
Do you offer refunds?
Due to the vast amount of things that contribute to hatching rates and chick care, I do not offer refunds once the eggs or chicks have left my care. If your eggs are damaged while being shipped, I suggest you file a claim with the postal service. You can find that claim form on their website.
What does NPIP mean?
National Poultry Improvement Plan, is a voluntary program overseen by the USDA that monitors poultry flocks for control of bird borne diseases. At a basic level, a chicken flock with an NPIP certification has been tested multiple times a year and found to be negative for Salmonella Pullorum and low-path Avian Influenza diseases. for more information please visit www.poultryimprovement.org
